Thomas Reid has had a long-standing interest in real estate, and has recently made the transition into the sales side after 15 years of working in the construction industry, providing him with a thorough knowledge of the ins and outs of the technical components of proper home construction.

This bodes well for both buyers and sellers of property. Given his background, he is able to discern potential structural issues of a home and inform his clients accordingly. For sellers, this gives the opportunity to rectify any adverse situations before putting their property on the market. For buyers, it allows Tom to see problems that another agent would miss. This is the biggest thing that sets Tom apart from other agents.

His philosophy in business is the same as in the rest of his life: to serve, to be courteous to everyone he meets, to listen with his ears and his eyes. This is how he accomplishes his business.

Thomas graduated from Winona State University in 1991 and is currently working towards his Green Associate professional accreditation through the U.S. Green Building Council. He is a member of the Local Chicago USGBC Chapter. His civic engagement led to his active support in the creation of Blue Sky Inn, a not-for-profit organization established to empower Chicago’s homeless youth through job training and opportunities for creative expression. He is also involved with the Active Transportation Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of walking, biking, and transit that provides diverse transportation options and more livable communities that make Chicago a distinctive city. He is an animal lover and an avid supporter of PAWS. He loves hiking, camping, music festivals and anything that generally involves being outdoors.
